Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Sr. SDET Engineer to design and implement robust test strategies for web apps, APIs, and distributed systems in Halifax, Canada.

This on-site role emphasizes end-to-end test management, automation development with Playwright, RestAssured, and Java/Spring Boot, and CI/CD integration. Qualifications

• 5+ years in Agile development and Jira.
• 5+ years testing distributed apps across stack layers.
• 5+ years in Test Management lifecycle.
• 6+ years with relational DBs (Oracle, DB2, Postgres) and SQL.
• 6+ years of test automation design using REST Assured, Playwright, Karate, Cucumber, TestNG.
• 6+ years Java/Spring Boot with strong SQL; JavaScript/TypeScript a plus.
• 5+ years CI/CD with GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, SonarQube.
• Azure/AWS cloud experience, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Stock Plan Services/Brokerage exposure desirable.
• Ability to design test strategy and automation suites for new products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test strategies, plans, and cases for web apps, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
• Lead end-to-end test management: planning, estimation, execution, defect tracking, reporting, release validation.
• Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks using listed tools.
• Create automation solutions for functional, integration, regression, API, UI, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Analysts, Devs, and DevOps across the SDLC.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies; sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives (Jira).
• Design automated API tests with RestAssured, Karate, and other frameworks.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD with GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, SonarQube.
• Leverage Azure or AWS for cloud-native testing in distributed environments.
• Create detailed test docs, reports, architecture docs, and quality metrics.
