Job summary

BMT is seeking a Senior Safety and Environmental Specialist to integrate safety and regulatory requirements into design, identify hazards, assess impacts and drive mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.

The role reports to the Technical Capability department and offers a permanent, full-time opportunity with a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits. Halifax, Ottawa, or Victoria locations are possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of safety and environmental engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in the shipbuilding industry.
• Eligible for Canadian security clearance.
• Existing registration or ability to obtain registration with a Professional Engineering governance body.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own Safety and Environmental Management Plan.
• Conduct safety and environmental assessments across design lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks through design.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
