Job summary

PrairieSky Royalty Ltd. is seeking a Senior Royalty Compliance Analyst to strengthen assurance of royalty payments on PrairieSky’s Fee Lands.

  • Able to analyze complex issues independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with land agreements (mineral leases, farmouts) and royalties.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, investigate, verify, and manage royalty payment issues through to resolution with stakeholders.
  • Use information systems (Excel, Qbyte, LandRite, Petrinex) to analyze data and drive conclusions.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for royalty information and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Manager, Royalty Compliance, by providing reports and overseeing project reviews.

POSITION

Our team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Royalty Compliance Analyst to play a key role in increasing assurance of royalty compliance on PrairieSky’s Fee Lands. This exciting and challenging position is ideal for a result-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys tackling complex problems, and is passionate about uncovering and delivering solutions through in-depth investigation.The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accountability and professionalism in all interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify, investigate, verify, and manage royalty payment issues through to resolution, maintaining clear and effective communication with stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Effectively utilize information systems containing large volumes of data to investigate and analyze issues, operating in Excel, Qbyte, LandRite, Petrinex, and other internal systems.
  • Act as a trusted resource for royalty-related information and provide guidance to both internal andexternal stakeholders.
  • Support the Manager, Royalty Compliance, in providing reports as required and managing project reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 8 years of experience, preferably with background in operational or joint venture accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues independently, prioritize critical tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
  • Working knowledge of both freehold and overriding royalties, as well as land agreements (mineral leases, farmouts, etc.), is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines (Land and Accounting).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and familiarity with Accumap, LandRite, Petrinex and Qbyte are highly desirable.
