Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Manager, Risk and Controls within the Risk and Governance team in Global Functions Technology (GFT). The role focuses on understanding the Risk Register, overseeing control testing, and managing ITRM findings to support risk decisions at senior levels.

The candidate should have CRISC or equivalent, 7+ years in risk, strong communication, and a deep understanding of technology and financial services. This role offers growth in a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• CRISC certification or equivalent designation.
• 7+ years of risk-management experience.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to navigate unclear requirements.
• Deadline-driven with ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication with presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Solid understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Understand Risks in the Risk Register and evaluate new risks.
• Lead control testing for GFT as tests are scheduled.
• Document and manage EIM Issues and ITRM Findings from creation to closure.
• Act as Risk Management SME for junior staff.
• Oversee timely completion of Application Control Assessments.
• Discuss Risk/Issues/KRI/Reports feeding into RCSA with senior management.
• Describe Business Unit Risk Profile and remediation actions.
• Manage creation of new risks and controls and complete testing.
• Prepare materials for senior risk management meetings.
