Job summary

Fairstone Financial Inc. is seeking a Collections Specialist to contact past-due auto finance customers, negotiate payment plans, and document actions.

You will assess risk, reference accounts for further action, and strive to meet individual and company-wide collection targets. Requirements include strong communication skills, tech-savviness with MS Office, skip tracing, and familiarity with credit bureau systems; 1 year in high-risk auto financing, and French language skills are a plus.

About the role

Provide excellent service while ensuring exceptional results in the collection of financial loans. Contact past due customers through the appropriate channeling methods, request and negotiate payment arrangements within authorized limits, and send correspondence to collection customers. Use company-specific policies and procedures to maintain and coordinate firm payment recovery. Assess and mitigate risk by referring accounts for further action. Document all call activity details in the Collections system to reflect any action taken, e.g., commitments to pay and/or amounts and dates agreed upon. Achieve individual collection targets to meet Department and Company-wide goals. Complete other collection responsibilities, as assigned.

What we’re looking for

You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are tech-savvy and know your way through Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. You are experienced with skip tracing and familiar with using 411, social media, and the ability to understand credit bureaus. You have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with high-risk accounts in the auto financing industry. EXTRA- AWESOME TO HAVE! Post-secondary education in Business Administration or any other relevant studies. You have demonstrated work experience with sub-prime consumers. You speak French!

What you can expect - pay & process

Expected base salary range is $44,362.50 - $50,000.00. This posting is for an existing vacancy within our organization. Artificial intelligence may be used in parts of the recruitment process.
