County of Simcoe seeks a Recreationist to provide personal care assistance and deliver programming and therapeutic recreation for seniors in our long-term care facilities. You will help implement daily living activities, maintain safety, and input data into care plans while coordinating with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications include a post-secondary recreation/therapy related degree or active enrollment, a valid driver’s license, CPR recertification, and ability to work with a team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/degree in Recreation and Leisure or related field.
• Enrollment in a program to be completed within three years of hire.
• PSW certificate is an asset and valid driver's license is required.

Responsabilités

• Develop, plan, implement and evaluate group programs in conjunction with the plan of care.
• Provide assistance or adaptations to facilitate participation in activities; occasional weekend/evening programming.
• Ensure care and services delivered in safe environments; maintain safety processes.
• Assist with activities of daily living including medication cueing and stockings.
• Coach and mentor team members; maintain professional ethics and relationships.
• Input with client care plan and RAI CHA assessment; complete documentation as required.
• Respond to client emergencies and activate emergency systems when needed.
• Participate in educational in-services; set personal work goals with supervisor.
• Work in compliance with OHSA and Long Term Care Homes Act; maintain confidentiality.

Formation

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Recreation & Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or related field

Valid G class driver's license and access to vehicle

Ontario F driver’s license and clean abstract

CPR recertification required

Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (≤6 months old)
