Job summary

Aplin is seeking a Senior Real Estate Conveyancer in Edmonton to manage end-to-end residential conveyancing for a fast-paced practice. You will handle presales, purchases, and title transfers with minimal ramp-up time, while maintaining high standards of client service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years in residential real estate conveyancing.
  • Experience with builder/developer files is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of conveyancing procedures, title transfers, and builder agreements.
  • Ability to autonomously manage a high-volume caseload from day one.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Overssee end-to-end conveyancing for residential developments incl. presales, purchases & title transfers.
  • Draft, review, and finalize documents for purchase, sale, and financing.
  • Perform title, tax, and corporate searches; resolve title defects; ensure compliance.
  • Serve as main contact for clients, lenders, realtors, builders, and partners.
  • Manage closings, payouts, registrations, and final reporting.
  • Maintain meticulous file records and track critical dates.
  • Administer trust transactions and related registrations.
  • Deliver outstanding client service at every stage.
  • Assist colleagues during peak periods to maintain workflow.

Job description

Our client, a small to midsizedowntown law firm, is looking for an experienced Senior Real Estate Conveyancer to join their team. Known for representing major builders and developers, the firm offers a fast-paced, high-volume environment supported by streamlined systems and well-established procedures—allowing you to step in and make an immediate impact with minimal ramp-up time.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-sufficient professional who values both independence and team collaboration. You’ll manage a monthly volumeof approximately 30 files, comprising a mix of new home purchases and residential lot transactions. While residential conveyancing is the primary focus, experience in commercial files will be viewed as a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end conveyancing process for residential developments, including presales, purchases, and title transfers.
  • Draft, review, and finalize documentation for purchase, sale, and financing transactions.
  • Perform title, tax, and corporate searches; proactively identify and resolve title defects; ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, lenders, realtors, builders, and legal partners.
  • Manage all aspects of closings, including payouts, registrations, and final reporting.
  • Maintain meticulous file records, track critical dates, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Administer trust transactions and oversee all related registrations.
  • Deliver outstanding client service at every stage of the transaction.
  • Contribute to team workflow by assisting colleagues during peak periods to maintain balance and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in residential real estate conveyancing.
  • Background in builder/developer files is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing procedures, title transfers, and builder agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload autonomously—ready to contribute from day one.
  • Superior organizational skills with an unwavering eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at prioritizing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team structure.
  • Hands-on experience with title searches and defect resolution.
  • Commercial conveyancing experience is a strong asset.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $85,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience.
