You will work as a Senior Engineer in Public Markets Technology, partnering with investment professionals and operations staff to design and implement solutions enabling trading and post-trade activities. You will be responsible for hands-on development and maintenance of solutions covering various asset classes including equities, fixed income, derivatives, OTC, and FX. Through close collaboration with investment professionals and operations, you will see firsthand how your software impacts trade activities and delivers long-term value to our client.

Responsibilities:

1. Work in collaboration with trading professionals, operations, and technology teams to design and build solutions enabling trade activities across asset classes including futures, equities, fixed income, derivatives, OTC, and FX.
2. Collaborate with team members to conceptualize, design, and develop new software applications, which may include server-side enterprise solutions, GUI, or highly customized solutions tailored to business needs.
3. Create solutions aligned with business requirements and long-term architecture and technology strategy, utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud development.
4. Maintain and enhance existing applications to support trading functions.
5. Perform unit and integration testing on software components.
6. Prepare and document design and program specifications.
7. Manage timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.
8. Develop scalable IT solutions within predictable time frames, fostering the right IT behaviors.
9. Provide knowledge transfer through demos, walkthroughs, and documentation to team members and support staff.
10. Offer responsive business support while adhering to quality processes for enterprise software development and support.

Mandatory Skills:

1. University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
2. Strong interest in capital markets and supporting portfolio management systems.
3. Knowledge of software development best practices and patterns.
4. Experience in Python, SQL, or a keen interest to learn, with a passion for technology.
5. Knowledge of cloud development technologies; AWS experience is preferred.
6. Experience with FIX protocol is a bonus.
7. Desire to expand domain knowledge through work and continued education.
