Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Principal Protection and Control Engineer in Canada to lead the P&C team on a diverse portfolio of transmission and distribution projects. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and provide technical governance from concept through commissioning.

Ideal candidates have 15–20+ years of utility protection experience, P.Eng. in Canada, and expertise in protection software and relay settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, or eligible to obtain (U.S. PE considered an asset).
• Experience with substation protection philosophy and relays, and review of P&C design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for Protection & Control across multiple projects.
• Set protection, control, and metering philosophy for high voltage substations.
• Provide final technical approval on complex projects and reviews.
