Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive successful project execution for clients and the firm. You will mentor PMs and act as primary liaison among stakeholders across domestic and international projects.

The role requires an accredited engineering degree, 7+ years of PM experience, and formal PM training. You will oversee multi-phase design/build efforts and ensure contracts, timelines, and budgets are met.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of Project Management experience in a related field.
• Formal Project Management training.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive the work on the project; set priorities, procedures, scope and schedule; publish and coordinate team assignments with the Studio Leader and Operations Director; obtain resource commitment for all disciplines.
• Manage assigned projects through all stages of the project lifecycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, Closure.
• Follow and implement all established company processes and procedures.
• Facilitate a project kick-off meeting involving all team members to clearly define objectives, scope, design and schedule.
• Independently develop a detailed Work Plan for completing the design within scope, timeline, and budget; identify precursors and track documentation.
• Direct, coordinate, mentor and support the project team to meet client and profitability objectives.
• Maintain contractual, business and financial records; inform client, Studio Leader, Operations Director and Accounting on financial status.
• Identify QA/QC requirements and schedule reviews.
• Manage client expectations; participate in client meetings as required.
• Notify client of scope changes, prepare estimates for additional design fees and obtain approval before extra services.
• Proactively identify opportunities to add expanded services and pursue repeat business with the client.
• Manage a portfolio with a revenue target of $1+ million annually.
