Job summary

Worley in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead technical coordination on large capital projects in the mining and heavy industrial sector. The role acts as the key liaison among Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction teams to uphold design integrity, quality standards and schedule alignment.

The ideal candidate brings progressive engineering and project execution experience on large projects, a Bachelors in Engineering, and a P.Eng. designation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is preferred.
• Experience managing technical scope on large projects in mining or heavy industry.
• Familiarity with project controls, engineering workflows, and quality management.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical interface between all engineering disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Review project specifications and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Lead TQ and RFI processes to minimize schedule delays.
• Manage MOC process for technical deviations and prepare documentation for approvals.
• Provide technical support for procurement and evaluation of major equipment and materials.
• Lead technical bid evaluations and approve vendor drawings (VDRL).
• Witness FAT/SAT for critical equipment as required.
• Serve as technical representative during construction and address field issues.
• Coordinate constructability reviews to pre-empt fabrication issues.
• Monitor field work for compliance with drawings and quality procedures.
• Assist in closeout documentation and As-Built records.
• Collaborate with Project Controls on schedule and progress reporting.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks affecting cost or schedule.
