Job summary

WSP Canada is seeking a Project Manager / Project Engineer in Terrace, British Columbia to lead multidisciplinary heavy industrial and mining projects from concept to completion. You will coordinate engineering deliverables, manage resourcing and schedules, and work with a team of experts to meet client objectives.

The ideal candidate has a post‑secondary degree in Engineering, 7+ years in mining/heavy industry consulting, at least 3 years of project management, BC EIT/CET/P.Eng designation

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in consulting, focused on mining and/or heavy industrial projects.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience overseeing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Designation as EIT, CET or P.Eng in BC desired.
• Highly self‑motivated, with a desire to grow and take on new challenges.
• Strong ability to engage confidently with clients in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Drive project resourcing and budget for profitability.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables across disciplines for execution.
• Oversee man-loading planning to optimize resources.
• Develop schedules and cost reports to deliver on time and budget.
• Manage changes to minimize risk and keep scope aligned.
• Implement HSE and quality procedures through all phases.
• Represent WSP in meetings with clear client updates.
• Respond promptly to scope, risks and execution concerns.
• Capture lessons learned to drive improvement.
• Lead or support business development, including proposals.
• Take on extra responsibilities to deliver projects.
