Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Calgary is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex natural gas infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, shape technical strategies, and ensure practical delivery on schedule and budget.

You will develop deliverables such as P&ID's, PFDs, and equipment lists, review 3D models, and coordinate with vendors, clients, and construction teams. A strong client presence and regulatory awareness are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Registered P.Eng. with APEGA, or eligible for registration in Alberta.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in energy.
• Experience with natural gas compressor stations and related facilities.
• Knowledge of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 and Alberta requirements.
• Client-facing experience and ability to manage design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project engineering activities for natural gas compressor stations and related energy infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review P&IDs, PFDs, Line Lists, Tie‑In Lists, Equipment Lists, valve lists and datasheets.
• Coordinate 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews across disciplines.
• Build client relationships as a day‑to‑day engineering contact and communicate status and risks clearly.
• Drive resolution of technical and interdisciplinary issues with vendors, suppliers, and construction teams.
• Support Project Managers in scope, schedules, budgets, risks, changes, and project controls.
• Guide projects through construction and commissioning with field changes and vendor coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers and EITs, strengthening the Project Engineering team.
