Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Canada seeks a senior project engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams on natural gas compressor station projects, guiding design from concept through commissioning. You will coordinate piping, mechanical, electrical, and controls interfaces, drive schedules, and ensure safe, cost-effective outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, a P.Eng. with Alberta eligibility, and 7–10 years in energy EPC/EPCM or consulting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field.
• Registered P.Eng. with APEGA or eligible for Alberta registration.
• 7–10 years of progressive engineering experience in energy (EPC/EPCM) or consulting.
• Experience with natural gas compressor stations, gas processing, pipelines, or similar facilities.
• Strong understanding of compressor station design and operation.
• Knowledge of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, and Alberta regulations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across process, mechanical, piping, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
• Proven client-facing engineering experience and ability to lead design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering activities for compressor station projects, driving quality, schedule, cost and performance.
• Develop and review deliverables (P&IDs, PFDs, Line Lists, Equipment Lists, specs, datasheets).
• Facilitate 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews with multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate interfaces with clients, vendors, fabricators, and construction teams; resolve design issues.
• Manage engineering documentation, registers, schedules, risks and scope changes.
• Support cost estimates, procurement, bids, and vendor document reviews.
• Drive engineering quality through technical reviews and field responses; incorporate site feedback.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and EITs within the project team.
