Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Canada is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary design for natural gas compressor stations and related energy infrastructure, from early design through commissioning.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with clients and vendors, uphold safety and quality, and help strengthen the broader project team across process, mechanical, piping, and controls disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Registered P.Eng. with APEGA, or eligible for registration in Alberta.
• 7 to 10 years of progressive engineering experience in energy industry.
• Demonstrated Project Engineering experience with natural gas compressor stations, gas processing facilities, pipeline facilities, or similar energy infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of compressor station design and operation, including packages and related systems.
• Knowledge of Canadian natural gas facility requirements (CSA Z662, ASME B31.3).
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical interfaces.
• Strong client-facing engineering experience, including facilitating design reviews and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities for natural gas compressor stations, driving quality, schedule, cost, and technical performance from early design through commissioning.
• Develop and review key engineering deliverables (P&IDs, PFDs, Line Lists, Tie-In Lists, Equipment Lists, valve lists, specifications, calculations, datasheets).
• Facilitate 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews across multiple disciplines.
• Coordinate interfaces with clients, vendors, and construction teams; resolve design and execution issues.
• Manage engineering execution documentation, deliverable registers, schedules, risks, interfaces, and scope changes.
• Support cost estimates, procurement activities, bids, vendor reviews, risk assessments, and schedules.
• Drive engineering quality and constructability through technical reviews and field queries.
