Job summary

WSP seeks a Senior Project Manager to deliver complex power projects across Canada from a Calgary-area office. You will coordinate across disciplines, manage budgets and proposals, and maintain client relationships to secure repeat work.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in utilities, P.Eng or technical background, strong governance and communication skills, and a proactive leadership style in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (P.Eng designation preferred) or technical diploma; PMP certification is considered an asset.
• 15+ years of progressive project management experience in the Utilities industry.
• Expertise in project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in project controls, scheduling, contract management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• A collaborative leader who thrives in complex, multidisciplinary environments.
• Strong organizational skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Exceptional communicator in written and spoken English; bilingual (French/English) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage existing and new Power projects for multiple clients across disciplines (Substations, Transmission Lines, Distribution, Electrical Studies).
• Oversee project budgets, forecasts, and monthly cost reporting.
• Monitor program KPIs and report on them regularly.
• Facilitate project communication across engineering, construction, procurement and client teams.
• Contribute to quality assurance by reviewing deliverables for compliance and accuracy.
• Support contract administration, change management, and procurement activities.
• Assist in managing proposals, go/no-go decisions, drafting and finalization, and estimating.
