Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Vancouver, Canada, is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to oversee accounting operations for large-scale construction projects. The role requires on-site work or at the head office, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, reporting to the Accounting Manager.

You will lead preparation and review of financial reporting, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive internal controls while partnering with project teams on profitability and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• Experience with GAAP and project accounting preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee procedures supporting accounting operations for complex construction projects.
• Maintain and update project-specific training materials for consistency in processes.
• Provide clear communication to Finance and project management on financial performance and risks.
• Develop knowledge of project cost accounting, including budget/forecast analysis and risk identification.
• Oversee and manage month-end close activities to support owner invoicing.
