Job summary

Staples Canada is seeking a Product Owner with 3+ years in related fields to guide technical product vision for front-end platforms and eCommerce systems. You will collaborate with software, PM, QA and business teams to shape a scalable roadmap and monitor performance.

Expect opportunities to influence cloud and open-source tech strategies. You will define stories, drive backlog, and present updates to leadership while leveraging Agile/Scrum practices.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent (MBA an asset).
• Agile certification an asset.
• Experience with product road‑mapping tools, open‑source technologies, public/private cloud technologies.
• Prior direct/indirect people management experience an asset.
• Experience with both Agile and Scrum from a Product Owner Perspective.
• 3+ years’ experience in a related field.
• 2+ years’ hands-on technical experience.
• 2+ years’ experience at an eCommerce company.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the management of daily business activities to ensure that business priorities and end user expectations are being met.
• Writes and prioritizes stories and develops business cases where required
• Manages cross-functional relationships and communication.
• Provides routine and transparent product updates via formal presentations and written communication.
• Stays informed of industry trends and best practices for current products to shape how to meet business needs while researching and providing recommendations for enhancements to current suite of products.
• Identifies key needs, performs gap analysis, assesses new product ideas/innovations, determines market opportunity and participates in prioritization of initiatives.
• Adapts well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
