We have an exciting short-term contract opportunity for a Senior Product Consultant in Toronto. This is a 3-month contract opportunity to work with one of Canada's leading commercial real estate brokerages. The Senior Product Consultant will play a key support role in the ongoing enhancement and improvement process for our client's proprietary commercial real estate property database system and associated tools. The Senior Product Consultant will collaborate closely with a Business Systems Analyst and interface with both a third-party development team and an internal application developer.
- Hours : 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
- Office : Downtown Toronto
- Duration : 12 weeks total
- Focus : Executing defined product initiatives and supporting the Agile development process rather than setting strategic direction.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in leading weekly grooming meetings, ensuring agendas are followed and discussions are productive.
- Ensure meeting takeaways, action items, and decisions are accurately logged and tracked.
- Review user stories and escaped defects within Azure DevOps to ensure they are clearly documented and meet defined standards.
- Collaborate with the Business Systems Analyst and development teams to ensure user stories and escaped defects are thoroughly tested and meet acceptance criteria and requirements.
- Support the communication of changes to business users through drafting sprint release email communications and release notes.
- Assist with sprint and feature planning to ensure already identified and prioritized work is correctly organized and documented for development cycles.
- Conduct research and analysis for new features identified by the Product Lead, focusing on scalable, cost-effective design solutions, and documenting detailed requirements.
- Assist in gathering user feedback to inform the requirements gathering and design research process for planned features.
- Act as a liaison between the Product Lead, the Business Systems Analyst, the third-party development team (for the primary database system), and the internal application developer (for smaller associated tools).
- Engage in team agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-4 years of relevant experience in product support, business analysis, or a similar role within a technology or software development environment. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and working with development teams.
- Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar agile project management tools (Jira, etc.) for documentation and tracking.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in documentation and tracking action items.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical information to business users and vice-versa.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members (Business Systems Analyst, developer) and stakeholders.
- A proactive and inquisitive mindset with the ability to conduct research and synthesize information to document requirements.
- Experience in the commercial real estate industry or with property data systems is an asset, but not strictly required.
