Job summary

Ledcor in Barrie, Ontario, seeks a Senior Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on power utility construction projects, developing plans and monitoring performance. You are an expert, anticipating client needs and guiding solutions while mentoring project staff and coordinating multiple teams.

Responsibilities include ensuring work aligns with PQP, leading safety program development, updating schedules, and assisting with large multi-discipline estimates.

Qualifications

• 15 years of powerline construction experience and 5+ years as a superintendent.
• Post-secondary education in Construction or Engineering.
• Understanding of utilities construction practices, contracts, costs and budgets.
• Ability to plan and manage a project schedule and lead solutions for complex issues.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Staff supervision experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience on industrial/oil & gas or mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, PQP conformance.
• Lead Project Specific Safety Program development and incident investigations.
• Review and update construction schedules and meet milestones.
• Estimate durations and materials for large, complex projects including DBJV scope for pursuits.
• Mentor and guide project staff and multiple teams, allocating resources.
• Participate in subcontract and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
