Job summary

Ledcor in Ontario seeks a Senior Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for power utility construction projects. You will lead project planning, monitor performance, and anticipate client needs with expert problem-solving skills.

You will mentor staff, manage complex schedules, and coordinate safety programs, while driving PQP conformance and subcontract negotiations on multi-discipline efforts. The role is site-based with rotation and travel allowances.

Qualifications

• 15 years of powerline construction experience and 5+ years as a superintendent
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of utilities construction practices, documents, contracts, costs and budgets
• Ability to plan and manage a project schedule and lead solution development for complex issues
• Strong communication and mentoring skills with diverse teams
• Proven record of building teams and promoting teamwork through coaching and consensus-building
• Previous staff supervision experience
• Clean drivers abstract
• Experience on industrial/oil & gas or mining projects and assets

Responsibilities

• Ensures projects are built according to approved plans and codes; leads PQP conformance
• Leads development of Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) and drives improvements; leads incident investigations
• Reviews and updates construction schedules; ensures milestones are met and analyzes delays
• Estimates durations and materials for large multi-discipline efforts; supports project pursuits
• Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and superintendents across teams
• Participates in subcontract and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
