Job summary

Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to act as the technical authority for power transformer engineering. You will influence direction, drive innovation, and lead complex technical analyses across multidisciplinary teams and clients.

You will collaborate with internal and external partners to optimize designs, support cost-reduction initiatives, oversee qualification activities, and mentor engineers and production staff while ensuring manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• Must have work authorization for Hitachi Energy Canada.
• 15–20 years of experience in transformer industry, preferably power transformers.
• Extensive expertise in design, manufacturing, and performance of power transformers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical focal point for power transformers and provide strategic guidance to teams and customers.
• Lead technical meetings, present analyses, and recommend next steps.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives in design and manufacturing to save materials and labor.
