Hitachi Energy in Canada is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist to act as the technical authority for power transformer design, manufacturing, and performance. You will influence engineering direction, lead cross‑functional teams, and drive cost‑reduction initiatives to strengthen product competitiveness.
You will mentor engineers and production staff, present analyses to internal stakeholders, and collaborate with customers to address complex technical challenges while advancing innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 15 to 20 years of transformer industry experience.
- Extensive design, manufacturing, and performance expertise for power transformers.
- Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
- Proven technical leadership and stakeholder influence.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and French.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical focal point and spokesperson on power transformers.
- Provide technical and strategic guidance to units, teams, and customers.
- Lead technical meetings, present analyses, and recommend next steps.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives in design and manufacturing.
- Participate in design reviews and propose improvements.
- Mentor engineers and production staff; develop training materials.
- Lead investigations on test failures and implement durable solutions.
- Support manufacturing operations with clarification on deviations and design complexity.
