dcbel Inc. designs and sells residential energy solutions to empower homeowners with clean, efficient energy.

We seek a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design and develop power electronics for our Home Energy Station family, enabling solar charging, backup power, and grid services. You will own hardware from specification through prototype and mass manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting certification testing to ensure compliant, reliable products.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on hardware experience in power converter design (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Masters or PhD preferred.
• Experience with high bandwidth power semiconductor selection (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs), gate drive and protection circuit design.
• Experience with UL and/or CE electrical safety requirements and EMC requirements relevant to power converters.
• Experience with design of analog/digital circuits and micro-processors.
• Experience in PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and manufacturability improvements.
• Excellent understanding of power electronics topologies and thermal design.
• Familiar with Altium Designer.
• Proficiency with lab instrumentation: Oscilloscopes, Network analyzers, Signal Generators.

Responsibilities

• Design and build hardware of power electronics converters for dcbel products.
• End to end ownership of hardware from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation and high-volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and firmware teams to design, validate and manufacture power converters.
• Actively participate in the certification process by supporting testing and providing solutions when needed.
