Job summary

e-STORAGE, part of the Canadian Solar family, seeks a Senior Power Electronics Control Engineer to lead HIL testing for PCS and inverter validation in an onsite role in Ontario. You will own real-time simulations, develop firmware, and ensure grid-code compliance across projects.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in HIL testing, strong MATLAB/Simulink and PSCAD skills, and a hands-on approach to cross-functional collaboration with firmware and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Control Engineering with 5+ years in HIL testing and real-time simulation.
• Experience validating power converters and inverter systems with real-time simulators.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and PSCAD; familiarity with IEC/UL/IEEE grid interconnection standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop test environments for PCS and inverter validation.
• Build real-time PCS models including grid, transformer, battery, and protection interfaces.
• Develop firmware and control algorithms for inverter systems with grid-code compliance.
• Execute grid-code test cases and document results with traceability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to product lifecycle and field issue resolution.
