About the Role

Working within the PATH program team, you will develop and oversee policies that protect and enhance pension benefits for OPSEU Pension Plan members. Your responsibilities include analyzing legislation, leading strategic initiatives, and developing policy and regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze impacts of legislative changes on pension administration.
  • Draft plan text amendments and collaborate with stakeholders for approvals.
  • Develop policies and solutions for complex pension issues, preparing reports on impacts.
  • Interpret plan terms, legislation, and best practices, serving as a technical resource.
  • Participate in administrative adjudication, prepare case analyses, and present to committees.
  • Produce reports and respond to internal and external information requests.
  • Assist in legal and regulatory submissions, monitor policy effectiveness, and participate in projects and committees.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in pension policy environments.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable legislation (e.g., Income Tax Act, Pension Benefits Act).
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • University degree in business, law, or related field; pension-specific certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
