Hookdeck Inc. is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to own core platform components across backend, data engineering, and DevOps. You will build, optimize, and operate highly concurrent systems handling billions of events per month, ensuring reliability and scalability at every layer.

In this hands-on role, you will design and deploy critical infrastructure, improve performance, and drive resilience. You will work across the stack from data pipelines to platform services to support growing

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Strong knowledge of highly concurrent, event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, queues, pub/sub, and event sourcing patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Backend development of core services for event ingestion, routing, and delivery.
• Design and operate data pipelines, storage, and analytics infrastructure.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and monitoring systems.
• Build platform features to support product growth and new capabilities.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize throughput and latency.
• Ensure high uptime, resilience, and observability of systems.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and tracing tooling.
