impact.com, a leading commerce partnership platform, seeks an experienced engineer for Application Platform Engineering. You will build shared components, drive AI-informed decisions, and ensure scalable, secure services across the platform.

You’ll collaborate with product teams, ship internal tools, and shape adoption with roadmap-driven work. This role emphasizes code quality, governance, and end-to-end ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production applications with Java and Spring.
• Experience delivering APIs, SDKs, shared libraries and platform services.
• Strong platform design sense: balance defaults with extensibility.
• Experience driving migrations and cross-team change.
• Disciplined use of AI tooling and agentic tooling knowledge.
• Clear technical writing and design proposals.

Responsibilities

• Build and own shared components such as service scaffolding, logging, observability and authentication.
• Identify problems with product teams and decide what to solve centrally, using AI to assess impact.
• Maintain API compatibility and migrate live services without downtime.
• Own end-to-end adoption: rollout plans, migration tooling, upgrade guides, and support.
• Translate blueprints into code: CI/CD policies, governance, and dependency rules.
• Shape service design through reviews and technical proposals.
