Job summary

Blixperts is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the plant's accounting function near Lac Saint Jean, Quebec. You will report to the General Manager and work with the corporate finance team in Toronto, driving IFRS-compliant reporting and strong internal controls.

You will guide the accounting team, oversee budgeting and forecasting, manage working capital, and participate in site audits. The role requires CPA designation and bilingual English/French proficiency.

Qualifications

• Completed accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA).
• Familiarity with IFRS / GAAP.
• Experience with computerized accounting systems, including advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Longview.
• Bilingual English, French (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to the GM in financial decision-making for the management of the mill and forestry operations.
• Management of the Accounting team.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and forecasting for the plant.
• Ensure financial records and system controls are in place and operating effectively, in compliance with IFRS, SOX and Company policies.
• Oversee final annual budget for the plant; prepare and examine expense analysis reports for variances; determine trends for expenses and improvements.
• Lead working capital management, including stores inventory and payable optimization.
• Support fixed asset management: evaluate benefits, quantify savings, prepare depreciation schedules, post-completion audits.
• Prepare for, manage, and support site audits – internal and external.
• Drive continuous improvement: develop KPIs, report results to management and corporate departments.
• Manage payroll, accounts payable and receivable.
• Participate in Finance projects as site project leader.
