Job summary

Benchmark Recruitment in Vancouver is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator for a permanent, full-time role. You will oversee bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly staff, ensure timely payments, and maintain compliance with Canadian laws and union agreements.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of Canadian payroll experience, a CPM/PCP pathway, strong HRMS skills, and a proven record in payroll controls and year-end reporting. Hybrid work in the Greater Vancouver area is offered.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive Canadian payroll experience
• CPM or PCP certification with CPM progress toward designation
• Experience with HRMS and payroll tax reporting
• Experience in unionized environments and T4 year-end reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processing for salaried and hourly staff
• Prepare payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and registries
• Calculate and remit statutory deductions to government agencies and pension providers
• Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and collective agreements
• Maintain confidential payroll records and respond to employee inquiries
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Operations to improve payroll services
