Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Canada is seeking a Senior Nuclear Lead Estimator to drive the development of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale nuclear and industrial projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, integrate mechanical, piping, structural and other scopes, and continuously improve estimating practices using historical data and robust tools.

You will mentor other estimators, develop procurement strategies, and ensure alignment with project schedules and execution plans

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive estimating or construction experience on major industrial projects.
• Experience in nuclear, power generation or other highly complex industrial environments preferred.
• Broad construction knowledge across mechanical, piping and structural scopes.
• Ability to own an entire major project estimate and coordinate discipline leads.
• Strong understanding of industrial construction means, methods, constructability, sequencing and productivity.
• Experience with CPM scheduling, historical cost data, benchmarking and key estimating metrics.
• Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills for presenting to senior management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Collaborative, hands-on leader with big-picture and detail orientation.
• Build and self-perform construction experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete estimates for large, complex nuclear and industrial projects from strategy through submission.
• Serve as lead estimator for multidisciplinary pursuits, integrating multiple scopes into a cohesive estimate.
• Develop estimating and execution strategy including constructability, sequencing, schedule, productivity and procurement.
• Maintain knowledge across mechanical, piping, structural and related disciplines and engage experts as needed.
• Review drawings and specs to identify scope, risks and opportunities.
• Ensure disciplines are properly scoped and aligned with execution strategy.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to incorporate design deliverables and historical costs.
• Mentor estimators and promote strong estimating practices across the team.
• Lead procurement and subcontracting strategies with scheduling teams to align CPM schedules.
