Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Canada seeks a Senior Construction Leader to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of complex construction activities in Ontario. You will manage project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality align with client expectations.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will drive sequencing, procurement, and field execution while coordinating across disciplines to resolve issues and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 10 to 15 years of progressive construction experience with self-performed work and procurement.
• At least 10 years managing complex, high-value energy infrastructure construction projects.
• Experience in a self-performing construction environment with hands-on field activity.
• Proven track record managing design-build projects with integrated design and construction.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and field project management best practices.
• Exceptional leadership with team development and performance management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced skills in project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and formal presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead all construction phases in full compliance with project procedures, quality standards, safety protocols, and approved processes.
• Provide oversight to ensure development and execution of Work Packages, ITPs, and essential construction documentation, with thorough records.
• Understand project scope, specs, sequencing, and execution strategy to optimize delivery.
• Supervise mechanical and industrial construction activities including equipment installation and piping.
• Plan labor, equipment, and resources to enhance safe field execution.
• Coordinate project scheduling, sequencing, milestone tracking, and resource forecasting.
• Identify risks and mitigations early; implement proactive actions.
• Direct and coordinate superintendents, subcontractors, and trades to ensure timely completion.
• Foster interdisciplinary coordination across engineering, procurement, quality assurance, commissioning and safety.
• Monitor productivity, cost, and schedule; adjust as needed to meet goals.
• Champion a safety-first culture across all operations.
• Report project performance to senior management and stakeholders.
• Oversee procurement and subcontractor management to support workflows.
• Ensure field installation quality meets specifications and procedures.
• Provide leadership in resolving technical challenges and constructability issues.
• Maintain positive stakeholder relationships including clients and partners.
• Manage project financials within authority and approve expenditures.
• Regularly communicate risks, opportunities, and progress to leadership.
