Qualifications

• 8 to 15 years of progressive estimating experience in industrial construction.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed estimates for mechanical equipment installations.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret drawings, specs, and contracts.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities for cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating software, especially InEight Estimate.
• Experience with outage planning, turnarounds, or maintenance shutdowns.
• Educational background with a degree, diploma, or technical certification in Engineering/Construction related field is preferred.
• Must be eligible to obtain security clearance for project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical equipment installation in industrial projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and estimating needs.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost components for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor services.
• Analyze project risks and optimize pricing methodologies to improve bid competitiveness.
• Engage with vendors and subcontractors for quotations and incorporate quality quotes into estimates.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction to align estimates with plans.
• Support outage planning, turnarounds, and planned shutdown estimates.
• Maintain cost databases and industry benchmarks for continuous improvement of estimating practices.
• Participate in estimate reviews, value engineering, and post-bid analyses.
