Job summary

Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for a Network Analyst 3 to join our Information Management and Technology Division. The role focuses on developing and sustaining our IT networking infrastructure with Cisco technologies, Wi-Fi, QoS, and VoIP, while using Cisco DNA Center, Wireshark and SolarWinds for monitoring and troubleshooting.

The position is on-site, 35 hours per week, with responsibilities spanning equipment evaluation, SOP development, design and upgrades, and

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Four years related experience.
  • Acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • All applicants must obtain and maintain the required police security clearance throughout their employment with SPS, which includes a mandatory polygraph examination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for a variety of communication systems including wired and wireless technologies.
  • Respond to and resolve communications issues, including hardware failures, network outages, and system errors.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies and diagnostic tools.
  • Provide troubleshooting support and guidance to IT staff and end-users.
  • Work with various stakeholders to recommend, design, testing, and implement system upgrades and improvements to existing systems and processes.
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce security measures and best practices to protect the organization from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Perform monitoring and maintenance activities in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical and user documentation including system documentation and SOPs required to support police operations.
  • Act as a resource and escalation point for junior staff.
