Job summary

BPA in Vancouver is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to help establish our new Vancouver office. You will lead and support mechanical building systems design, mentor team members, and work with colleagues across Canada to deliver institutional projects.

This role offers ownership of meaningful responsibilities and direct collaboration with senior leadership as the office grows. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical building systems design, EGBC membership, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (specializing in building) or building engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
• Member in good standing of EGBC (Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP heat loads calculations software.
• Capability to write reports, complete site visits, and design mechanical and plumbing systems with minimum supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Technical supervision, coordination, verification and design of mechanical building systems from concept to construction completion.
• Work as part of a team to carry out building-related mechanical systems design projects for various sectors (institutional, office, commercial, cultural and residential).
• Connect with clients to understand their needs.
• Survey existing installations.
• Analyze, design and adapt building-related installations.
• Prepare various types of client reports.
• Manage the project and the relationships with the client.
