Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Vancouver seeks a client-facing mechanical engineering leader to guide our M&E team across British Columbia. You will drive market development, lead proposals, and supervise project delivery while mentoring engineers and building strong client relationships.

The role blends leadership with hands-on project execution, supporting strategic growth, quality, and innovation in a high-performing multi-disciplinary environment. Hybrid work and career progression offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 15+ years in mechanical building systems design with leadership.
• Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC, or eligible for registration in British Columbia.
• Experience with AutoCAD and BIM (Revit) is an asset; not a production-based design role.
• Experience with collaborative delivery models (IPD, Alliance, Progressive DB) is an asset.
• Strong client relationship skills and business development experience.

Responsibilities

• Market Development: lead expansion of M&E markets and manage key accounts.
• Proposal Leadership: oversee proposals and ensure client-aligned quality.
• Technical & Project Leadership: serve as PM/Discipline Lead on diverse projects.
• Team Development & Mentorship: mentor engineers, recruit and onboard new team members.
• Cross-Regional Collaboration: share practices across Canada and participate in national forums.
• Quality Assurance & Peer Reviews: lead reviews and uphold standards.
• Innovation & Design Excellence: promote new technologies and design methods.
