Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to join our Vancouver-based buildings engineering team. With 10+ years of experience, you will lead and mentor a growing mechanical group, manage diverse projects across sectors, and nurture client relationships.

You will contribute to the team’s growth, engage with clients, and participate in business development while collaborating with colleagues across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for EGBC – P.Eng.
  • Over 10 years' experience in mechanical engineering in the building sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none.
  • Experience mentoring junior technical staff is an asset.
  • Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the growing mechanical practice in Vancouver, leveraging your experience to date and the expertise available in other locations across CIMA+
  • Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationships
  • Participate in business development activities through the Vancouver area
  • As the team grows, contribute to the development of the mechanical engineering group's technical expertise in order to meet our clients' needs
  • Analyze and solve complex problems, identify appropriate work methods and guidelines, and coordinate project completion
  • Assist in the supervision and management of the mechanical engineering team members, including engineers, technicians, and support staff
  • Evaluate technical work, delegate responsibilities and provide instructions.
  • Prepare and reply to proposals in collaboration with the team assigned to this task

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager to join our Vancouver-based buildings engineering team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience (minimum 10 years) to contribute to a mature but growing mechanical team in Vancouver. This opportunity will provide the chance to lead and shape the team. You will also lead projects across various sectors, including commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, government, healthcare, and recreational facilities, while also fostering client relationships.


You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Vancouver BC office.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required

  • Experience mentoring junior technical staff is an asset

  • Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence
