Job summary

CIMA+, a Western Canada-based, employee-owned firm, is growing its Buildings team in Vancouver. As an Electrical Engineer, you will design and model electrical systems for diverse buildings, including lighting, power distribution, security, and fire alarm systems, with guidance from a Senior Engineer.

You will collaborate with engineers, coordinate across disciplines, and perform site visits. The role offers hybrid work from the Vancouver Downtown Office and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • University degree in electrical engineering.
  • Eligible to registry with EGBC as EIT.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint); REVIT is a plus.
  • Healthcare project experience is an asset.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Design, drafting, and modelling of electrical systems for buildings (lighting, power distribution, communication, security, fire alarm).
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure design aspects are incorporated.
  • Coordinate with other building disciplines.
  • Perform design calculations under supervision of a Senior Engineer.

This role willbe responsible forworking within our local electrical team and designing project across various sectors such as commercial, institutional, educational, and healthcare while under the guidance of a senior engineer.

You will be able to work in a hybrid mode from theVancouver Downtown Office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, drafting, and modelling of electrical systems for buildings including lighting, lighting controls, power distribution, communication, security, and fire alarm.
  • Working with engineers to ensure that design aspects have been incorporated.
  • Coordination with other building disciplines.
  • Design calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.
  • Site visits to review existing site conditions or for documentation of ongoing construction projects.
  • Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities.
Qualifications
  • University degree in electrical engineeringwith 4 years ofexperience.
  • Eligible to registry withEGBCas in EIT
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word,Projectand PowerPoint. REVIT is an asset
  • Experience on healthcare would be an asset.
  • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
