Job summary

CIMA+ for Buildings Calgary is seeking a Technologist to support the Buildings group with the design and drafting of building mechanical systems for institutional, commercial and municipal infrastructure. You will work on a variety of projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment and have opportunities to grow your career as the company expands across Western Canada.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with Revit Building Systems and AutoCAD 2D.
  • The ability to adapt to and adhere to internal and external REVIT/CAD and design standards.
  • Available to work outside of the office on an occasional basis
  • Valid Canadian drivers licence with access to transportation for site reviews and inspections
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English
  • Integrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence

Responsibilities

  • Design, modeling and drafting of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC control systems using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Implementing redline markups from engineers.
  • Coordinating with engineers to ensure design is aligned with other disciplines.
  • Design calculations under supervision of a Senior Engineer.
  • Occasional site visits to survey existing conditions and document ongoing construction.
  • Continued professional development through internal/external learning opportunities.

The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are looking for a Technologist to support the Buildings group in Calgary with the design and drafting of building mechanical systems for an array of different building types in institutional, commercial and municipal infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, modeling and drafting of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building plumbing systems, fire protection systems, and HVAC control systems, using the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Implementing redline markups from engineers
  • Working with engineers to ensure that all aspects of the design are coordinated with other disciplines
  • Design calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer
  • Occasional site visits to survey existing conditions and to document ongoing construction.
  • Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities.
