Job summary

Stantec, a global leader in sustainability and design, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial Mechanical Group in Canada. You will manage small to medium projects, lead discipline work on larger projects, and design, size, and validate mechanical and industrial systems across metals, pulp and paper, and energy sectors.

Candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, are a Registered Professional Engineer with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, bring 15+ years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer and member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Minimum of 15 years of consulting engineering experience.
• Functional proficiency in English in a professional work environment.
• ASP Construction Health and Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain it). This certification is required for access to industrial facilities and construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage small- to medium-sized projects.
• Serve as Discipline Lead on medium- to large-scale projects.
• Research, design, analyze, and recommend technical solutions.
• Design, calculate, and validate mechanical and industrial systems.
• Perform preliminary sizing and selection of specialized equipment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and clients.
• Plan and conduct field investigations or oversee their execution.
• Participate in the preparation of service proposals, including effort and schedule estimates and scope definition.
• Supervise the work of technicians, engineers, and EITs on projects.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
