Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Team Lead – Mechanical Engineering to oversee a dynamic group of industrial mechanical, process, and piping engineers and technicians, delivering large-scale projects.

Reporting to the Director, Heavy Industries, you will mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with clients to provide innovative technical solutions.

You will champion safety and quality while growing the team and the service line across demanding industrial assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• 15+ years of relevant experience in consulting or industrial engineering, incl. process mechanical or piping.
• Demonstrated leadership in project management (schedules, resources, budgets, etc.).
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate a vision and engage a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
• Manage projects and ensure deliverables while maintaining profitability.
• Advise clients and coordinate activities with professionals and stakeholders.
• Lead design, estimation, and preparation of plans within your discipline.
• Participate in site supervision to ensure quality and compliance with plans.
• Support strategic development of the service line in partnership with leadership.
