Job summary

Enbridge Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide leadership across a portfolio of Liquids Pipelines projects in Canada and the United States. The role focuses on design review, equipment selection, reliability improvements, and engineering solutions for safe, reliable operation of Enbridge assets.

The successful candidate will lead and mentor teams, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and travel up to 10-15% within Canada and the US as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• 6+ years of related oil and gas industry experience.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada; if in the US, PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Mechanical Engineering contact for Projects, ensuring alignment with mechanical equipment engineering standards, asset strategies, and long-term reliability objectives.
• Review and audit project designs for compliance and completeness, providing feedback to Projects and stakeholders.
• Lead or support in-house projects and produce authenticated design documentation, drawings, and calculations; meet technical, schedule, budget, safety and quality objectives.
• Apply mechanical engineering skills throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with internal teams to identify design improvement opportunities and enhance cost competitiveness and design efficiency.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to developing engineers and junior team members.

If in the US, preference is to have a PE.* Strong understanding of oil and gas pipeline and facility construction, as well as applicable Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements, and industry codes and standards.* Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences and can provide technical guidance, coaching, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.* Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Bluebeam.* Experience in engineering, project management, construction, or Enbridge projects is considered an asset.**Working Conditions:*** Office environment.* Occasional travel of approximately 10% to 15% may be required.
