Job summary

Enbridge Inc. is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer for the Toronto, ON team. You will apply broad engineering expertise to planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas distribution assets, while reviewing complex designs for compliance and safety.

You will lead cross-functional projects, mentor junior staff, and drive technical decisions that enhance safety and reliability. This is a full-time, on-site role with a hybrid work option under Enbridge’s FlexWork model

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered P.Eng in the Province of Ontario.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven expertise in pipeline design, codes, regulations, materials, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply broad business and technical expertise to support planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas distribution assets.
• Review, approve, certify, and stamp complex designs to confirm compliance with legislation, standards, and safety expectations.
• Lead cross-functional engineering projects from planning through closeout while guiding a small team of technical staff.
• Develop technical analyses, material specifications, manuals, procedures, and recommendations for informed decisions.
• Evaluate and implement new products, tools, and technologies to improve safety and reliability of the distribution system.
• Provide on-call engineering support, incident investigation assistance, field guidance, design reviews, and mentoring for junior staff.

We are seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer to join our Toronto, ON, based team! In this role, you will provide broad and deep engineering expertise related to pipeline codes, regulations, standards, and company practices. You will approve complex designs, lead cross-functional engineering projects, guide a small team, and deliver practical solutions that support safe, compliant, and reliable natural gas distribution operations. What You Will Do:

• Apply broad business and technical expertise to develop and implement policies, practices, and procedures supporting the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas distribution assets.
• Review, approve, certify, and professionally stamp complex designs and operating procedures to confirm compliance with legislation, regulations, engineering standards, company requirements, and public safety expectations.
• Lead complex, cross-functional engineering projects from planning and design through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout while coordinating the work of a small team of technical staff.
• Develop technical assessments, engineering analyses, material specifications, manuals, procedures, and recommendations that support informed decisions and significant resource investments.
• Evaluate, approve, and implement new products, tools, equipment, and technologies that improve the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of the natural gas distribution system.
• Provide on-call engineering support, technical consultation, incident investigation assistance, field guidance, design reviews, and mentoring for junior engineering staff.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered member with PEO as P. Eng in the Province of Ontario.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven expertise in pipeline design, applicable codes and standards, construction practices, regulations, materials, and engineering procedures.
• Ability to assess complex engineering issues involving operating practices, safety, cost analysis, stress analysis, fluid mechanics, metallurgy, plastic fusion, welding, or corrosion.
• Collaborative nature in building effective relationships across functions, communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders, and seeking diverse perspectives to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Exercises sound independent judgment, prioritizes safety, takes ownership of results, mentors others, and makes risk-informed decisions in complex situations.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment.
• Occasional travel (<5%) to construction sites and other offices.

Salary:

Ranges from $100,000 - $125,000 CAD for Canadian locations, except Alberta, based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
