Job summary

Enbridge Inc. in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking an Intermediate Pipeline Engineer to provide engineering expertise and project leadership for the GDS transmission pipeline system, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant work. The internal title is Pipeline Engineer.

You will lead cross-functional projects, perform technical analyses, prepare reports, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Operations, Construction, and Risk Management, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• PEO registration as P.Eng in Ontario is preferred/required.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Good understanding of pipeline design, codes, standards, and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Approve and certify engineering designs and operating procedures.
• Lead cross-functional engineering projects from initiation to completion.
• Perform technical analyses of the transmission pipeline system (stress, metallurgy, welding, corrosion).
• Prepare technical assessments and updates to standards and documentation.

We are seeking an Intermediate Pipeline Engineer to join our Toronto, ON, team! In this role, you will provide engineering expertise and project leadership to ensure work on the GDS transmission pipeline system is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and company requirements. You will make critical technical decisions, support pipeline construction and integrity initiatives, and collaborate across the organization to address the current and future needs of the business. Note: Internal job title is Pipeline Engineer. This position is not eligible for relocation or international relocation.

What You Will Do:

• Approve and certify engineering designs and operating procedures, applying your professional engineering stamp to confirm compliance with legislation, regulations, company requirements, accepted engineering practices, and public-safety standards.
• Lead cross-functional engineering projects from initiation through completion, overseeing planning, design, approvals, procurement, tendering, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Perform technical analyses of the transmission pipeline system involving operating practices, safety, costs, stress analysis, fluid mechanics, metallurgy, welding, and corrosion.
• Prepare technical assessments, engineering reports, material specifications, and updates to company standards and technical documentation.
• Provide expert consultation on complex engineering policies, procedures, codes, standards, materials, and practices while guiding junior engineers and technical staff.
• Collaborate with Operations, Construction, Supply Chain Management, Engineering Integrity and Risk Management, and other partners, while participating in the Pipeline Engineering on-call rotation.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Preferably in a Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering program.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Registered member with PEO as P. Eng in the Province of Ontario.
• Good understand pipeline design, pipeline-system codes and standards, construction practices, field operations, and service procedures.
• Experienced in project-management and strong communication and presentation capabilities.
• Ability to build effective relationships and demonstrate the flexibility and leadership needed to mentor junior engineers and Engineers-in-Training.

Working Conditions:

Office environment. Limited travel (<5%) with the ability to travel to job sites and observe construction activities. A valid "G" class Ontario driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire.

Salary:

Salary: Ranges from $90,000 – $110,000 CAD for Canadian locations, except Alberta, based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
