Job summary

Enbridge is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide leadership across Liquids Pipelines projects in Canada and the United States. You will guide design, equipment selection, reliability improvements, and cost-effective operation of assets, ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 6+ years of oil and gas industry experience.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
• Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

In this role, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise and leadership across a portfolio of Liquids Pipelines projects in Canada and the United States. You will guide project design, equipment selection, reliability improvements, and engineering solutions that support the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of Enbridge assets.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as the primary Mechanical Engineering contact for Projects, ensuring alignment with mechanical equipment engineering standards, asset strategies, and long-term reliability objectives.
• Review and audit project designs for compliance and completeness, providing constructive feedback to Projects and other stakeholders.
• Lead or support in-house projects and produce authenticated design documentation, drawings, and calculations as required while meeting technical, schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives.
• Apply mechanical engineering skills, knowledge, and experience throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with internal teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify design improvement opportunities, and enhance cost competitiveness and design efficiency.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to developing engineers and junior team members.

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• 6+ years of related oil and gas industry experience.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, per applicable jurisdiction. If in the US, preference is to have a PE.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas pipeline and facility construction, as well as applicable Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements, and industry codes and standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences and can provide technical guidance, coaching, and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Bluebeam.
• Experience in engineering, project management, construction, or Enbridge projects is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment.
• Occasional travel of approximately 10% to 15% may be required. Ability to travel throughout Canada and United States.
• Travel to field worksites may be required, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:

• Ranges from $100,000 to $135,000 USD for U.S. locations, based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
• Ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 CAD for Ontario locations based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity.
• Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
