Senior Material Planning Manager (BH-213379)

Location Ontario, Canada Sector Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Salary 120,000.00 CAD to 140,000.00 CAD per annum

If you are a talented and experienced Senior Manager, Material Planning, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Aplin to grow their team in Kingsville, Ontario!

We are seeking aSenior Manager, Material Planningto lead and manage the packaging supply chain for our expansive network of farms and growers. With a portfolio valued at $70 million across five key categories (corrugate, clams/trays, film, bags, and labels), this role ensures efficient and timely material supply to approximately 100 farms and growers. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and process optimization, including the implementation of MRP systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Management:Oversee the replenishment of packaging materials for farms and grower networks. Analyze sales and grower pack schedules to determine requirements and place purchase orders to maintain optimal material supply.
  • Inventory Coordination:Manage the transfer of packaging materials from MPL inventory or supplier warehouses to farms and growers as needed.
  • Team Leadership:Lead a team of 14 professionals, including 8 direct reports based in Kingsville, ON, and Mexico. Provide mentorship and drive team performance to ensure operational excellence.
  • New Packaging Implementation:Collaborate with the Marketing team to introduce new packaging designs while minimizing obsolete materials and waste.
  • MRP Process Management:Leverage Material Replenishment Planning (MRP) expertise to analyze requirements and streamline operations. Drive the transition from current Excel-based processes to the NAV MRP module, serving as the implementation lead.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing material planning or supply chain processes, preferably within a multi-site agricultural or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in Material Replenishment Planning (MRP) systems; experience with NAV systems is a significant advantage.
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, such as Procurement, Marketing and Operations, to achieve company objectives.
