Job summary

Bank of Montreal is seeking a Margin Lending Leader to oversee risk, margin collateral and related operations in Toronto. You will guide a team, manage regulatory requirements and collaborate with account management and credit to support loan approvals while maintaining excellence in processes.

The role emphasizes risk culture, training, performance management and cross-functional coordination with second and third-line functions to identify and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• CIRO licensed (Investment Representative) preferred or eligible.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in risk, margin lending or financial services.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage risk programs and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor portfolios and manage risk to ensure collateral meets margin requirements.
• Lead and develop a team of margin lending professionals with training and performance management.
• Collaborate with account management and credit for loan approvals and operational excellence.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement program enhancements.
• Support risk management programs and regulatory examinations; communicate findings to stakeholders.
