Job summary

Metrolinx, an agency of the Government of Ontario, seeks a Senior Manager, Operations and Maintenance to oversee LRT contracts and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient revenue service. You will lead strategy, governance and performance across multiple projects.

You will build relationships with government representatives, contractors and vendors, guiding teams and ensuring alignment with division goals while maintaining rigorous safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant business degree (e.g., transportation, engineering or a related discipline) or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated progressive senior experience leading a large multidisciplinary team or managing large operating agreements.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (TC/CTA/CUTA AREMA, FRA, AAR, APTA, TAC) and safety/environmental legislation.
• Experience in commuter rapid transit planning, design and delivery.
• Strong management, budgeting and scheduling controls; ability to lead multiple projects and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for management and improvement of LRT operational matters.
• Build and manage relationships with internal/external stakeholders and partners.
• Lead the execution of the operations and project oversight strategy for vendor contracts.
• Provide senior leadership to ensure safety, regulatory, and legal compliance.
• Chair meetings with stakeholders and approve plans/submittals for contractual compliance.
• Participate in safety investigations related to operations and maintenance.
