Job summary

Minto is seeking a Manager of Complex Accounting in Ottawa to lead the review of complex financial transactions, develop memos, and implement new accounting standards. You will serve as a technical advisor to the finance team and work closely with external auditors.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 7+ years of progressive technical accounting experience involving IFRS/ASPE.
• Experience in public practice and/or real estate is an asset.
• Previous experience leading a team of finance professionals.
• Strong ability to analyze complex issues and recommend solutions.
• Proficiency in IFRS and ASPE with demonstrated technical application.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (NewStar, Yardi) and consolidation tools (OneStream an asset).

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, process, and review of complex financial transactions and accounting issues.
• Proactively implement new accounting standards.
• Act as an internal technical advisor, providing guidance to business units and finance teams.
• Identify accounting issues and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate audits with external auditors for various entities.
• Build strong relationships across business units and finance peers.
• Lead change initiatives and support process automation for reporting.
• Provide leadership to the team to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
• Prioritize effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.
