Strong Big 4/public accounting experience, technical IFRS expertise, SOX knowledge, and exposure to large public-company environments are highly preferred.
As our client continues to expand, it is building out its technical accounting capability and seeking a strong Manager, Technical Accounting to support some of its most complex and strategically important transactions.
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and working closely with senior technical accounting leadership, the Manager will provide accounting guidance and oversight for mergers and acquisitions, new investment opportunities, strategic growth initiatives, and complex contractual arrangements.
This is not an M&A execution role; rather, the successful candidate will lead the accounting analysis and compliance work that supports major corporate transactions and ensures financial integrity under IFRS and SOX requirements.
This opportunity offers significant exposure to senior leadership, external auditors, global finance teams, and high-profile business decisions across a large, publicly traded renewable energy platform.
The ideal candidate is an active CPA with at least five years of progressive experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, or audit, ideally including meaningful experience within a Big 4 or comparable public accounting firm. They have worked with large, complex, or publicly traded organizations and bring deep knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16.
The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating complex agreements, researching accounting guidance, forming defensible accounting opinions, and preparing detailed technical position papers to support their conclusions.
Experience with SOX, public-company reporting, consolidated financial statements, and regulatory requirements is important, while U.S. GAAP exposure is considered an asset.
This role does not have direct reports but requires strong process leadership across a global portfolio.
The successful candidate must be confident influencing stakeholders, managing deadlines, challenging assumptions, and explaining highly technical accounting issues in clear and practical terms.
